New penalties for planning breaches to be toughest in Australia

The New South Wales Government in Australia is set to introduce new laws to crack down on companies and individuals who breach planning rules with new penalties for breaches of these laws to be the toughest in Australia.
Maximum penalties of $5 million for companies and $1 million for individuals are on the cards under the powers of the Land and Environment Court.
It is clear that there is now an even greater need for a robust permit management system to ensure companies are remaining compliant and that they are not breaching the conditions of their permits.
